Phantoms, Untouchable

first phantoms
without

wind scorching
open the box

forest capable
for the cuts

& a cooling
carries through

as though
trouble had

its name
engraved on

the machines
watching the work

of the night
in those very

trees

Phantoms, Unblanketing
for Tony Tost

oranges in
the child's

bed, garden
heaved with mute

grackles. missing
the wind through

the open
bathtub window

lures what

the thirst
capitulates gently

for the deer
in the overgrown

town culled itself
from the town.
